Mini Grants
Often professionals in our field have great ideas for research or want to try a different approach to a particular task. They may be limited not only by time, but also by the availability of funds. NYSAER wishes to encourage members to follow through on ideas and dreams that might help other members and the field of rehabilitation and education of persons who are blind or visually impaired.
Guidelines
Grants are available up to $400.
Applicants must have been a member of AER for at least one year at the time of the request.
Applicants must outline what they wish to develop or study and detail how that undertaking will increase skill levels or the knowledge base in our field.
Applicants must provide a written proposal including costs and expected outcomes.
Applicants must explain how they will share information with other members (article in Newsletter, slot on the conference program, at a meeting, etc.)

When determining who will be awarded grants, the committee will give priority to those grants that will:
creatively impact and increase the knowledge base of professionals in the field
increase positive awareness of AER
improve services to consumers
