A group of TVIs from across the state who meet virtually to gain new skills and learn from each other. Our goal is to provide professional development on topics relevant to TVIs.
Recognizing everyone has their own areas of expertise, experience, and skills to bring to the table, we like to encourage everyone to share them with the group, which involves group members taking an active role in presenting.
CTLE and ACVREP credits available.
Cost (includes all 5 sessions, 10 CEUs total):
$100 for AER members, $150 for non-members, and institutional members can enroll 3 people for the AER member price.

NYSAER Purpose Statement
The purpose of this Chapter shall be to render all possible assistance to the promotion, development and improvement of all phases of education and rehabilitation of persons of all ages in New York State who are blind and visually impaired; and to provide activities, service, and opportunities for professional growth especially suited to Chapter members through, but not limited to, the presentation of an annual conference.
The Chapter shall support the purpose of the Association, which shall be accomplished through:
Increasing public understanding of the social and economic gains to individuals and to society through providing opportunities for all persons who are blind and visually impaired to be come self-sufficient, self-supporting and contributing members of society.
Providing a forum on a national, regional, and local level for the discussion of all issues relating to services to persons who are blind and visually impaired and the prevention of impairments and providing publications and conferences relating to this purpose.
Encouraging an interdisciplinary approach to programs or services to persons who are blind and visually impaired through maximum use of knowledge and skills of all related professions.
Fostering research to advance knowledge and skills for the improvement of services to all persons who are blind and visually impaired.
Assisting in the development of professional standards for personnel engaged in providing specialized programs and services to persons who are blind and visually impaired.
Assisting in the development of professional standards for specialized programs serving persons who are blind and visually impaired.
Initiating and cooperating with other groups in the development of programs of social action for the benefit of persons who are blind and visually impaired.
Increasing public understanding of the nature and cause of visual impairment and its impact on individuals and society.
